Talking about the world

Doing a little more

Months ago I started to use Duolingo again to learn Korean, I didn't had a goal in mind, I just wanted to have fun and maybe learn the basics, I wasn't expecting to much because I know that Duolingo has its limits and if I truly wanted to learn the language I should study more by myself.

I kept doing exercises almost every day and I would say it's a solid habit at this point. I think I have learned a few things but I also started to notice that I kept forgetting some words. Even though I didn't want to fully study for hours I wanted to make sure to give my all while doing these Duolingo exercises and not rushing like I was starting to do.

To keep me focus during the lessons I opted for writing notes about what I learn or words that I kept forgetting. I though that doing just a little more of what I was already doing wouldn't be hard, I was right.

After a week of doing this I can say that I'm paying more attention to the lessons, it doesn't bother me since It only takes a couple of minutes more to finish the exercises. I feel that writing it's a really effective learning method for me.

I also learned that my writing in korean it's horrible, it looks very ugly to be honest hahaha (it looks easy to write, but I guess it's not). So hopefully I'll improve on that too.

If you have some activity you want to get better, I totally recommend to do just a little more like I did. Changing a routine completely it's very hard compared to just add a little change. Maybe later when you get used to that change you could add a little more and more. Step by step is key.
