How do you know it is finished?
I'm writing a short story, well I already wrote all the story, but I keep reviewing and changing some parts and I'm starting to wonder, How do I know this is it? that this is the final version? I could keep messing with the details forever.
Maybe I'll have like a epiphany and immediately know that this is the best that I could get?
I found this contest for short stories and the theme fits mine so I though: why not submitted. I'm so indecisive but I think this time I'll send it, no, I'm going to. So I have to finished it before the deadline, what would probably happen it's that I'm going to do changes until the last minute and I'll be force to call the story finished.
It's not a problem to me to left the story as it is now, I like it (I think? after reading it so many times it's starting to lose meaning), but I can't confident say that it's finished. I have curiosity of how other writers deal with this, does this also happen to you? if someone has tips, I'd gladly read them.
Thankfully I have one more month until the deadline, that would give me time to figure this out. I suppose I'll keep changing and changing details of the story until I become crazy or I write something decent.
