I prefer being in a little corner of the internet
If you have read this blog for a while you probably noticed that there isn't a upvote/like button anymore. I contemplated for a while, more after seeing some of my posts reached the trending page, if I should keep it, but finally decided to make all my posts not discoverable from now on1. I like the upvote button as a way of people showing their appreciation for what I write, don't get me wrong, but being on the trending page makes me feel too exposed, like I'm being drag to an event I didn't want to show up.
I honestly prefer being in a cozy little corner of the internet, I won't mind if more people start to follow this blog, but I sure like to be a small one. I don't know, it's just that if it starts to get too crowded I think I would feel too intimidated to write. However, I think I can get used to it if my blog grows slowly, that's why I don't mind if people share my blog on a blogroll or a post, it doesn't feel too sudden.
So, there won't be an upvote button anymore, but people can still write on my guestbook in case they want to interact/show their like for the blog. I appreciate it. It's only the trending page I feel uncomfortable of.
I think I'll only make post discoverable if it's something that could help people in some way, I was thinking maybe reviews, tutorials or recommendations.↩
