Talking about the world

Poem: First Love

She was my first love
I try to remember again
how she walked, how she danced
is all gone like dust in the rain.

She was my first love
her favorite song is playing
her voice swings into my head
the only memory that’s not leaving.

She was my first love
I try to repeat every day
I keep record of my feelings
how I felt that day in May.

Was she my first love?
tired eyes are looking at me
bubbles of memories colliding
I can’t tell if it’s true.

A pretty nurse came to see me
She said she came yesterday too
I excused myself for forget her,
that felt like a deja vu.

This poem was part of some poems I did for a challenge in 2023, the theme for this one was "First love". I was checking other poems I've wrote and remembered I had these and this is the only one I feel is worth sharing.

It was my second time trying to write poetry in English at the time. I feel like I've changed quite much since then. I like writing this kind of storytelling poetry, but I haven't done it in a while.

Thanks for reading (●'◡'●)
