Poem: In this year

Why boys have short hair
and girls should have beautiful long hair?
no logic in these words
just tints of a weird evolution.

In the year of modernity
people keep calling girly things
to dolls, to the color pink
but they say "It is what it is".

In the year of prosperity
people keep saying that's a boy's thing
to video games, to violence
"Oh no! this kid isn't part of it!".

The world doesn't stop rolling,
technology building technology
but society feels the same,
when do we really changed?

A solution is too much to ask
but maybe a simple thought,
a sparkle of reflection in your mind
can start to change our life.

I cut my hair recently and I kept thinking about all those stereotypes that I don't understand, so I wrote this poem about it.
