Poem: When you forget to speak
Who would have thought
that when you don't speak for a day
you suddenly forget how to,
voice interference like a lost radio signal
can't fully puzzle sentences.
Unused vocal chords move slowly,
inhale, move my mouth as I exhale
and then repeat again
until the speech refines itself
I will understand what I say.
Who would have thought
that when you forget how to speak
you have to learn again
experience that baby way
of ridiculous babbling
of beginner exasperation.
It's been a long time since I shared a poem in English. I wrote this recently, after noticing that I should practice speaking.
I keep overthinking when I share these writings on my blog, but then I remember I'm just a random blog on internet.
Thanks for reading :)
