The care for a soundtrack

I'm convinced that the care for a soundtrack of a show or a movie reveals the true passion that the crew had for the project. When they don't use generic music and instead look for or write songs that fits perfect the scene - from the music to the lyrics- it's shows that people behind the production really care, they do everything they can for having all the details right.

Music make things more memorable, a good soundtrack can impact people and make them remember the movie/series for a long time. For example, the nostalgia really hits you when you listen to songs from your childhood movies. It always does for me.

Yesterday I was watching Mulan (one of my favorites Disney movies). I have always loved the soundtrack and when I listen to the songs while watching the movie I get emotional, for the nostalgia but also because every song accentuate the animation, both complements each other. After watching this movie I went to listen to more soundtracks from other Disney old movies, I forgot how good the songs were. Tarzan's soundtrack it's also great.

Music it's a factor I seriously consider while watching something, if it it's not good sometimes I even ditch it because I can't continue watching something with a sound that doesn't match the scenes, it feels like they are trying to mix oil and water. It threw me off every time the music sounds. In the other hand, great music often equals great media, because if they care for the music at that level, they would care for the plot, actors, production, etc.

Thanks for reading :)

P.S: I forgot about games, since I don't play much, but it applies the same, good music really takes a game to a next level. I actually have a playlist full of game's soundtracks, games that I haven't played but I like the music.

P.S. 2: I just found out Jackie Chan sings the Chinese version of I'll make a man out of you, I didn't even knew he could sing! It's a great version.
