Using RSS for YouTube subscriptions

I have a mess of subscriptions on YouTube, I created my account a long time ago (since elementary school) I have a lot of subscriptions that I don't watch anymore and my feed is full of videos I don't care about. This only makes harder for me to find new videos from channels I actually watch.

One day I tried to remove all these subscriptions but it was very time consuming and even though I spent more than an hour unsubscribing, I only went trough 30% of my them. I gave up on trying again.

Later I saw that YouTube channels have RSS and I could suscribe this way, this was the perfect solution I was looking for. I added only the channels I'm watching right now, it was quick, and also decided to follow any channel I found later with this method. I use the extension Feedbro and it has an option that auto detects RSS in the current page, so I just had to go to the channel's main page and suscribe.

Now It's so much easy to know when my favorite channel uploads a video. Another problem that I had with YouTube it's that I got zero notifications, I don't know why, I activated it for some channels but I just never get them.

So I trust more RSS, plus I have all the content I watch together in my feed. If you have similar problems with YouTube subscriptions, try using RSS.
