Talking about the world

What is art about?

A few minutes ago I was watching a show where a group was singing a ballad, some people from the audience started crying and I thought to myself "this is what art is about" you could gain money from it, but at the end of the day art is about human emotions, connecting with people, sharing with others the thoughts that go through your mind about the world: relationships, experiences, yourself, others, about the flower you saw growing in your garden, about everything.

Art is something we really don't have to do, nobody force us to paint, to write or to sing, we could survive only by the basic care of food and water, but somehow we feel the need to do it and affect us greatly not be able to. We even go to extreme cases like leaving behind basic needs, we starve for it, we spent sleepless nights and carry heavy weights just because we can't bear living without it. It's not logical at all but humans aren't logical so art isn't.

I believe art makes us more empathetic because art tells stories about people, people who has live similar experiences to us as they live in the same world as we do. Art tries to give meaning to human life and for me feels like documenting experiences. That's why when I look through someone's discography or art gallery it feels like I'm watching an archive of their lives. We are here in the same museum, is just that we are separated by walls so we don't realize it sometimes.

So what is art about? A lot of things, but if I have to describe it in one world it would be "people". In this world it's hard to survive only doing art, affording art is expensive, but I'm glad is still surviving, because without art I won't think there would be many things to be excited for.

Art is really interesting
